Nandamuri Balakrishna Honoured with World Book of Records for 50 Years in Telugu Cinema

Tollywood’s legendary actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honoured with the World Book of Records for completing an extraordinary 50 years as a hero in Telugu cinema.

 

Balakrishna, fondly called NBK and ‘Natasimham’, first appeared as a child artist in Tatamma Kala (1974), directed by his father and iconic actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). Stepping into lead roles in the early 1980s, Balakrishna went on to deliver numerous blockbuster films that cemented his place as one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars.

 

From family dramas to high-octane mass entertainers and powerful mythological roles, Balakrishna has showcased his versatility through films like Mangammagari Manavadu, Muddula Mavayya, Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha Naidu, Legend, and Akhanda. His powerful dialogue delivery and mass appeal have won him a loyal fan base spanning generations.

 

In addition to cinema, Balakrishna is a political leader representing the Hindupur constituency as an MLA from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He is also a philanthropist, playing a key role in establishing the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad.
